ImageDuring the formative years, or what's commonly referred to as drag racing's glory days, the average pro racer's pit space included enough room for a crew cab dually, the requisite Chapparal trailer and the race car itself. Rarely were there luxuries like tents, awnings, chairs, gourmet food, or beverage dispensers - quite the contrary. By the same token, makeshift, trackside concession stands provided the only opportunity for sustenance during these quarter-mile acceleration contests. So if you liked marginal cheeseburgers, hot dogs and fries, you'd manage to stay alive for the day (or weekend). Man, how times have changed.

In today's world of big-dollar sponsorships corporate hospitality has become one of the most important aspects of fielding a competitive race team. It's all about putting your best foot forward and providing an enjoyable experience for the numerous marketing partners and sponsor representatives who are invited to witness a day at the drags. Most times, that experience includes a goody bag, special (or even gourmet) meals, a variety of cold beverages, closed circuit TV, and a bird's eye view of the crew working between rounds.

The professionals at In Motion Promotion (IMP) are developing attractive programs that are specially designed to help make drag racing corporate hospitality a turnkey, seamless endeavor. Years ago, the only option race teams had involved the purchase of a specially outfitted, purpose-built truck and trailer. Today this necessary phenomenon is called "Mobile Event Marketing." In Motion Promotion works closely with its clients by determining whatever amenities they feel will contribute towards providing the ultimate hospitality experience. Such services are all available on a lease arrangement. It doesn't matter if you're planning one or more events, a hospitality rig can be tailored to your specific needs, right down to the tables and chairs, graphics, corporate logos, and a full vinyl wrap of the trailer itself.

The key to this unique approach lies in the assets, like state-of-the-art tractor trailers with everything from plush work stations to lounge areas and slide-outs, goose-neck trailers, car haulers, cube vans, and even custom motor coaches. The old saying is true; you don't get a second chance to make a first impression. With that in mind, IMP's vast array of top-quality equipment allows its clients to provide that all-important "feel good" situation for its invited guests.

Having mentioned some of the main ingredients above, a first-class Mobile Event Marketing and Hospitality area can include canopies, awnings, custom frame tents, generators, lighting and sound systems, flat-screen video monitors, tables, chairs, and crowd control stanchions. All this (and more) adds up to a very professional atmosphere. Throw in the between-rounds thrash of a professional race team, and it becomes an atmosphere the guests are not soon to forget.

Interactive displays are a big part of the Okuma NHRA hospitality tour. These guys are gathered around a laptop station while right on the other side is a national event style, Porta-Tree timing system, where guests can test their reaction times just like they were on the starting line.

That center portion of Okuma's trailer houses plenty of storage area for promotional materials and product information, as well as TV, stereo, coffee maker, and a microwave. The rear portion serves as a large conference area, suitable for delivering PowerPoint presentations or merely a comfortable place to relax.
